The Blue Lagoon and Playa Grande
On this excursion you will visit five different places on the North
Coast of the Dominican Republic. First you will visit a mini-zoo, then a
typical plantation house where you will learn about growing coffee,
cocoa, oranges, coconut and other tropical fruits. You will swim in two
different white sand beaches and in the fantastic fresh water lagoon:
the Blue Lagoon.
Cabarete and Sosua
Sosua is a small town in the Puerto Plata province of the Dominican
Republic. The town is divided into three sections: El Batey, Los
Charamicos and Sosua Abajo. Enjoy swimming in the crystal clear beach of
Sosua Bay.
Dominicana Jones Safari
Adventures
This unique adventure explores the interior of the Dominican
Republic. You will cross rivers and pass through small villages with
lots of Caribbean flair. In lush evergreen valleys you will learn
everything about the DR’s tropical plants and fruits. Among other stops,
you will visit a school, a market place and a Dominican Family where you
get in touch with real Dominican life first hand.
The highlight are the 27 ‘Damajagua waterfalls.’ They are made of small
and big caves with stalagmites and stalactites in a thousand colors.
Have a swim in the cold and crystal clear mountain range water under the
first waterfall, or explore and admire some of the upper ones with local
guides. For those who don’t want to visit the waterfalls, alternative
activities are offered.
Free Style Catamarans
Sail on tropical rhythms with a live one-man steel band playing on
board and a fantastic crew. Lunch and drinks are included.
Funny Buggy Adventure
Visit a Haitian Village, and see different plantations: bananas,
coffee and various fruits. Travel about 20 km and enjoy the beautiful
views of the extensive sugar can fields. Stop in a typical ranch for
some refreshments and pick up some souvenirs. Refresh yourself in Rio
Camu and swim in a Bergantin beach. If you wish, continue for a full day
experience and enjoy a tasteful typical buffet and ride the base of
Isabel de Torres Mountain for souvenir photos of a very memorable day!
Paradise Island
Don’t miss the most idyllic spot on the north coast. Cruise on a
twin-hull yacht to Point Rusia where you will lunch in a waterfront
restaurant (don’t miss the tilapia,) through a mangrove swamp and to
Paradise Island. Discover a beautiful reef on a snorkeling tour with a
guide and see amazing coral and colorful fish. Take plenty of sun
protection and enjoy this sun lovers day out in the sea.
Visit Puerto Plata
The shopping and sight seeing tour to Puerto Plata includes a ride on
the cable car up the Isabel de Torres Mountain summit with breath-taking
views. This handsome city showcases a fabulous display of
Victorian-style architecture.
Round off the day by visiting the Amber Museum and the San Felipe
Fortress, built to protect the city from the pirates. Also visit the
Amber and Larimar Factory.
Santiago-Jarabacoa
Travel to Santiago-Jarabacoa, the second largest city on the island,
picking up a few bargains along the way from cigars to ceramics. See how
handcrafted cigars are made as you cast an eye over the shoulder of a
nimble-fingered Dominican cutting, rolling and finishing one of the 250m
cigars he makes daily. Take a whistle stop tour around the ceramics
factory, where you will see the famous faceless dolls being made.
Drive through the winding hills of Jarabacoa and meander through a steep
valley. Take a Jeep to the waterfall where you can cool off or just sit
and relax taking in the spectacular mountains on horseback. Lunch and
soft drinks are included.
River Rafting
Hop on a raft and enjoy the cool waters of the Yanque del Norte
River, the longest in the Caribbean. In the company of professional
guides, you will go through canyons and rapids to the feels of an
adrenaline rush. You will discover places unknown to most. Action and
nature are packed into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Your trip
includes basic training and the essentials: wetsuit, life-jacket,
protective helmet, breakfast, a snack and lunch.
Zip Line Adventures
Only a 30-minute drive along the scenic route from Puerto Plata you
will find the zip-line park where you can enjoy spectacular views of the
city and the Atlantic Ocean. The highly experienced guides will train
each participant on the security system and installation of the
specialized equipment. You will launch off 10 platforms and 8 cables
where you are suspended in the air between 100 and 300 meters with
speeds up to 30 mph.
Guests should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. Pants or
longer shorts are recommended as is sunblock and insect repellent. Long
hair should be tied back to avoid entanglement. Cameras with secure
retaining straps are permitted. Bring cash for beer and souvenirs.
